Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account: your mobile phone number, your name as you enter it, and your time zone.
• Profile: your trades and skills, years in each trade, and a short description. For workers, a ZIP code (your service area) and a travel distance; we store the center of the ZIP code, not a home address. For employers, a business name and an optional billing email.
• Availability: the days and times you say you are free.
• Jobs and bookings: the jobs you post or respond to, invitations, bookings, cancellations and their reasons, and the exact job address, which is held for the employer and the confirmed worker.
• Messages: what you send in the app to people you have a booking with.
• Reviews and reports you write.
• Time records: check-in and check-out times, and corrections. Only if you allow it, a coarse location at check-in and check-out (latitude and longitude rounded to about a mile). Location never blocks check-in or check-out.
• Sign-in: a bot check by Cloudflare Turnstile runs in your browser before a code is sent.
• Consent records: your text-message choices and your agreement to these terms, with the exact wording you saw and the time.
• Basic technical data needed to run the app, such as sign-in sessions.
• We do not collect identity or license documents, profile photos or card details. ID and license checks, profile photos and card payments are not available yet.

How we use it

To run the marketplace: match workers to jobs, show approximate distance, confirm bookings, record hours, send the texts you chose, keep sign-in safe from bots, and look at reports. We do not sell personal information.

What other people can see

• Names are masked: before a booking is confirmed, employers see a worker's first name and last initial only. Employers' business names are shown.
• Distance is shown as an approximate figure, and the job area as city and ZIP.
• The exact job address is shown only to the employer who posted the job and to the confirmed worker.
• Your phone number is not shown to the other side of a job.
• GapCrew administrators can see what they need to look at reports and run the service.

Who we share it with

Service providers that help run GapCrew: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Lead Friendly (text messages, and the early-list forms on the website) and Cloudflare (the Turnstile bot check at sign-in). They may only use the information to provide that service. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Text messages

Texts are optional and separate: account and booking texts, and optional new-job texts. Agreeing to one does not agree you to the other, and neither is needed to use GapCrew. Phone alerts are not available yet. Reply STOP to stop texts and HELP for help. If you replied STOP, text START to the number GapCrew texts you from to get sign-in codes again. Other texts stay off until you turn them on in the app. The exact wording you agreed to, and the time, are kept as a record.

Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in data are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

• Closed accounts: when you close your account we keep the account record itself, with the date it was closed, and a history of the closure. We do not delete your hours, reviews, messages, consent records or the administrator audit log when you close.
• Agreement and consent records are kept as a history and are not edited.
• Bookings, time records, reviews and messages are records of work done between two people. They are kept for as long as GapCrew runs the service, including after either person closes their account, and are not deleted automatically. You can still ask for deletion as described below.
• Document and photo uploads are off in this version, so GapCrew holds no uploaded files. If uploads are switched on, stored files are deleted automatically two years after an account is closed, or one year after the license expires, whichever is later, and partly uploaded files are removed in a weekly clean-up.

Your choices, export and deletion

You can change your text choices, and your profile and availability, in the app. You can close your account yourself on the account page. Closing signs you out everywhere, cancels bookings that have not started (the other person is told, and it does not count against anyone), closes the jobs an employer has open, turns off text messages, and hides you from other people. It does not delete your information. Hours, reviews, messages and consent history are kept. If you close by mistake, ask us within 30 days and an administrator can reopen the account; after that it stays closed, and the phone number stays attached to it.

A tool to download your data is not built yet. To ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or for deletion beyond what closing does, email support@gapcrew.com and we will handle it by hand. Some records, such as consent history, may have to be kept.

Security and children

Access to your information is limited. No system is perfectly secure. GapCrew is for adults: you must be 18 or older to use it, and it is not meant for anyone under 18.
